Provided Certified Manager of Occupancy Training-Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority, Columbus, OH, and delivered a four-day Certified Manager of Occupancy Training to the occupancy and property management staff of the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority. The training included a review of relevant HUD handbooks and notices and instruction on the following topics: Eligibility, Determination of Assets, Annual Income, Allowances and Adjusted Income, Verification, Rent Computation, Tenant Selection and Waiting List Management, Leasing, Termination of Assistance, Evictions, Annual and Re-examination and Interim Adjustments. Training closed with the issuance of a Certified Manager of Occupancy exam. We initially provided a resource guide for training purposes and then converted the document into a desktop guide for daily reference.

Provided Technical Assistance to the Office of Capital Improvements, HUD, and developed and delivered a comprehensive two- and one-half-day training program on Construction Contract Administration to more than 250 public housing authority staff for 10 months. Staff designed and developed course material and prepared a Desktop Reference Guide, which was distributed to all program participants. The course curriculum included an overview of the construction process as well as discussions on the following topic areas:  Project and Cost Management, Bonds and Insurance Coverage, Administering a Construction Contract, Contract Modifications and Changes, Suspension of Work, Mitigating Construction Disputes, Completion and Closeout.

Leadership Training:
Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Unit, Department of Health and Human Services

Senior staff conducted multiple facilitated meetings and leadership training efforts for the HHS Small Business Program Offices and Small Business Specialists (SBS) as part of the HHS Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Unit (OSDBU). Staff designed and developed all program material and resource handouts, facilitated multiple two-day seminars, and prepared a closeout report on seminar recommendations for follow-up actions. The sessions developed were focused on an organizational change strategy as the individual small business offices of subordinate organizations of HHS were consolidated into the HHS OSDBU. Staff developed an organizational change methodology that combined leadership training, staff and survey assessments, strategic planning, action planning, and group decision-making strategies in multiple seminars.
